Dear Friends of Liberty,
Benjamin Franklin was reputed to say, “Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.” After that tragic day of September 11th, 2001, we gave up a great deal of our liberty in the hopes for a modicum of security and now have neither. Indeed, our own government now spies on us and violates our rights more than ever.
That’s why our mission at Liberty International is so crucially relevant on the anniversary of this tragedy. True peace, security, and human flourishing stem from individual sovereignty, free markets, and voluntary cooperation, never government coercion. If the terrorists really hated us for our freedoms, then we have played right into their hands by giving up our liberties, with the erroneous belief that security will follow.
We need to take back the freedoms that were wrenched from us—not by the terrorists, but our own government. That is why I am excited to invite you to a special live event this Friday, September 11th, at 8:00 PM EST, when I’ll be taking the stage on the hit live show, Are You Smarter Than A Politician?
As host Daniel “Free” O’Connell puts it, the purpose of the Q&A format is to “make liberty more compelling than propaganda.” At Liberty International, we love that concept! Taking our message into popular, dynamic formats like this is vital to engaging those who know something is amiss but can’t quite articulate what that might be. The bottom line is simple: freedom isn’t just a philosophy, it’s the ultimate solution to the world’s woes.
I won’t be alone in navigating the questions and coming up with short answers that resonate with our audience. I am honored to share the screen with an incredible roster of freedom fighters, organizers, and visionaries:
